Overview

The Project Coordinator provides strategic and operational support to the Project Director and Project Management team in the delivery of Calgary's Green Line LRT project. Working within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, the role is responsible for coordinating project activities, supporting governance and reporting requirements, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring effective communication between project partners.

The successful candidate brings strong municipal experience, executive-level coordination skills, and the ability to build relationships across government, industry, and community stakeholders. This role serves as a critical connector between project leadership, technical teams, City stakeholders, consultants, and external partners to support successful project delivery.

Your role

• Project Coordination & Delivery Support:
• Support the Project Director and Project Managers in coordinating project priorities, deliverables, schedules, and commitments.
• Coordinate project meetings, workshops, working groups, and stakeholder sessions, including agenda development, preparation of materials, minute-taking, and action-item tracking.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines to support timely project execution.
• Support the preparation of presentations, project updates, briefing materials, and status reports.
• Stakeholder & Municipal Coordination:
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between AtkinsRéalis, the City of Calgary, contractors, consultants, project partners, and community stakeholders.
• Leverage knowledge of municipal governance, administrative processes, and approval frameworks to support project advancement.
• Support issue resolution by coordinating information and facilitating discussions among project participants.
• Reporting & Project Controls Support:
• Support project governance processes by tracking issues, risks, decisions, and approvals.
• Assist with the collection and consolidation of project information for monthly, quarterly, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, organized, and compliant with project requirements.
• Leadership Support:
• Provide high-level coordination and administrative support to project leadership.
• Manage competing priorities and help ensure leadership is informed of emerging issues, risks, and opportunities.
• Support strategic communications, stakeholder engagement strategies and internal team alignment across multiple project functions.
• Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving:
• Proactively identify potential project challenges, coordination gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support implementation of solutions to improve project efficiency, communication, and team effectiveness.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Project Management, Engineering Support, or a related discipline.
• Project Management certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
• Minimum 10 years of experience supporting complex projects, programs, or executive leadership teams.
• Experience working within municipal government, public-sector organizations, or major infrastructure environments.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, presentations, and governance materials.
